This is all new, and almost exciting.

Wow. Xanga! It's like meeting up with a friend you used to spend a lot of time with when you were younger, and reminiscing about all the fond memories you had together. Only electronic. That sounds a lot like what happens on Facebook all the time.

To be honest, I don't know why I am posting on here at all. I will most likely once again forget this exists, although I am still rather impressed at my choice of username all those years ago. Man, time does fly. Well, here's hoping I can remember to blog and make a commitment to do it regularly. For my grand re-opening of my blog, I will list things in my life that have changed and things that haven't changed since my last post in 2007. Here goes.

Things that have changed:
  • I have two nephews
  • I finally decided on a major (Networking. The computer kind, not the social kind.)
  • My age (21 now)
  • I don't play World of Warcraft (I play Left 4 Dead instead)
  • I have a boyfriend named Paul
  • The name of my school
  • My job description
  • Xanga's layout

Things that have not changed:
  • I still live at home
  • I still don't have a car
  • I still play way too many video games
  • I still go to the same school, it's just Bellevue College now, instead of Bellevue Community College
  • I still work at Starbucks, I just have more responsibility
  • I still make commitments I can't keep
  • I still have awesome friends
  • I still love Jesus

It's sad when it takes you twice as long to come up with the things that have changed versus the things that haven't changed. Based on the afore mentioned evidence, I would say my life has progressed very little since 2007, which is actually rather disappointing. Now we're coming up quickly on 2010, and I have to wonder if this will finally be a year of change? Maybe.

Well, in honor of change, I've decided that, after every blog post, I will add a quote from my "Quotationary" that applies to the topic at hand. Today's quote seemed to apply well to my situation, after comparing my life two years ago to my life today.

There can be change without progress, but not progress without change. - Anonymous

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything on Xanga. I still get all my subscriptions and read about everyone else, but no longer do I use my blog. (Mostly because I never have anything I consider blogworthy, or if I do, I'm too busy with other things to bother writing it down.)

The latest event in my life:
I left my home of 19 years and moved 3 miles down the road to a brand new house. =) I'm quite happy here, surprisingly. I was almost positive I'd be sad to leave my old house behind... but not so much, as it turned out. The house is lovely, welcoming, and just down the street from one of my favorite people's houses.

I've pretty much discontinued my attendance at Trinity Baptist, and am now attending the West Seattle campus of Mars Hill with my former co-worker and a few of his friends. I love Pastor Mark's material and teaching method. I don't ever get bored, and I don't feel as though I'm stuck in spiritual elementary school. He also does a fantastic job of applying the sermon to every day life. I'm really enjoying it there!

So.. i've never been good at ending blogs. that'll have to do for now.

So, a tiny update. The strange lump in my cheek hasn't gone away, but it's definitely smaller. My new favorite activity is laser tag. My illness of the month is walking pneumonia.

Stay tuned for my "Highlights of the Year!" which will be posted sometime toward the end of the month.

:( Emmy has face cancer.

Okay, more like a strange mass in her cheek. I've been told it's a cist. All I know is: My cheek is visibly swollen, and it hurts to smile. :(

After a nearly year-long break, I will be returning to BCC. =) I got the email of acceptance today.

What would you do on your last day alive? With your last breath, could you honestly say, "I feel.. fulfilled."?
